It is a beautiful May day in Minnesota. Over 90 degrees, windy, not a cloud in the sky.
But have you ever noticed that a sunny sky is flat? There is no dimension, and no perspective. Clouds give the sky depth, interest, movement, light and shadow — perspective.
I think our lives mirror the sky. They are more interesting, dimensional, deep, and moving when they are dotted with clouds.
I know a day full of clouds gives me new perspective — even if it just makes me grateful for the sunny ones! And a stormy day has me running for the Son… and ever so thankful when the storms subside.
Clouds help me see better, clearer, God’s existence in my life. Without them, I would be oblivious to the blessings of a sunny day.
How about you? Do you welcome the clouds, or would you rather always live on the sunny side of the street?
